National Theatre - Connections 2017
On Saturday 6th May, 13 students performed ‘Status Update’ by Tim Etchells at The Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith. We have been working on this play throughout the year as part of the National Theatre Connections 2017.
The project involved 350 schools, colleges and theatre companies nationwide each performing one of ten plays written by a range of talented playwrights. During the day, the cast got to work with some of the National Theatre directors who delivered a fantastic and fun-filled physical theatre workshop looking at the practitioner ‘Le-Coq’. They then performed ‘Status Update’ to a sold out audience. We couldn’t have been happier with the level of professionalism, energy and quality of performance from the cast. Both myself and Emily were incredibly proud of all students. A huge thank you to the tech team (Mr Bland, Adam, Joel and Matt) who produced an amazing multi-technology set for us. We will hear back over the coming weeks if we made it though to the final stages. Thank you to all the family, friends and students who came along to support us – we really appreciated it.
Miss Adams, Emily Morris and the cast!
