Members of the Twyford Chamber Choir sang with Ealing Symphony Orchestra in their performance of Mahler's Third Symphony on Saturday 24th February, at St Barnabas Church in Ealing.  Along with two local primary school choirs, and London Youth Choir West, who made up the Childrens' Chorus, the sopranos and altos of the Chamber Choir joined with the St Albans Chamber Choir to make up the 'Womens' Chorus' (who represent the angels).  Mahler wrote the 3rd Symphony between 1893-96. It is a giant work, lasting 1 ½ hours, and the symphony reflects the beautiful pastoral setting of the Austrian mountains where Mahler spent his summers.

We hope that this will be the beginning of a long-standing relationship with ESO, and look forward to more collaborations in the future.

The concert was livestreamed, and the recording is available on Youtube here.
